BioLargo Subsidiary Secures Spartan Medical Deal for ViaCLYR Government Sales

BioLargo subsidiary Clyra enters an exclusive reseller agreement with Spartan Medical for ViaCLYR wound care solution targeting U.S. government facilities and ECAT listing amid expanding wound care demand.

Streetwise Report on Spartan Medical Parntership with Clyra Medical Technologies

BioLargo Inc. (BLGO:OTCQX) has secured a key commercial channel through its Clyra Medical Technologies subsidiary, according to a September 3 release .

The exclusive agreement with Spartan Medical Inc. opens direct access to U.S. government healthcare facilities worldwide for the FDA-cleared ViaCLYR advanced wound irrigation solution.

This development creates a dedicated pathway for federal purchasing and distribution, strengthening Clyra's position as it scales manufacturing.

Why the Spartan Medical Agreement Matters Now

The deal represents Clyra's third reseller arrangement and specifically targets government buyers, including VA/DoD facilities. ViaCLYR has been added to the Defense Logistics Agency Electronic Catalog, making it available for resale across multiple federal agencies and certain VA-funded civilian hospitals. Spartan Medical, a veteran-owned contractor, will offer the product at parity pricing.

BioLargo CEO Dennis Calvert highlighted how this channel complements existing U.S. and international distribution partners while supporting revenue growth ahead of the planned national launch of the surgical product Bioclynse next year.

Company Advantage Through Clyrasept Technology

ViaCLYR is powered by Clyrasept Copper-Iodine Complex Solution. Clinical testing showed it kills 99.9999% of 18 pathogens within one minute and maintains 72-hour antimicrobial activity without reapplication. The solution is non-cytotoxic and does not require rinsing. The FDA 510(k) clearance covers cleansing, irrigating, and debriding wounds rather than an antimicrobial efficacy claim.

Clyra CEO Steve Harrison noted the technology addresses critical dimensions of wound care without tradeoffs, with particular relevance for veterans and service members treated in government facilities.

Key Assets and Next Catalysts

Clyra's portfolio includes the recently launched ViaCLYR and the upcoming Bioclynse surgical irrigation solution. First-half revenue reached US$154,000.

BioLargo's other platforms include ONM Environmental, serving municipal and industrial odor control customers, BLEST engineering services generating US$1.888 million in first-half revenue, and water treatment technology operating at a New Jersey site for over 10,000 hours.

BioLargo Energy Technologies continues development of its Cellinity battery with no revenue recorded yet.

Broader Sector Timing and Market Growth

The global wound care market is projected to grow from US$22.22 billion in 2025 to US$30.48 billion by 2030 at a 6.5% CAGR, driven by chronic conditions, surgical procedures, and aging populations.

The antimicrobial wound cleanser segment is expected to reach US$869.99 million by 2035. Hospitals represent about 52% of that segment, aligning with Clyra's government healthcare focus.
